NEW COACHING SESSIONS There has been a number of new coaching/training sessions added to the coaches over the last few days EMERGENCY AID Toby Larkin & Alan Nightingale recently attended an Emergency Aid course in Chelmsford, were it was stated that some changes have been made to the CPR procedure, which will differ on your first aid bag guidelines. Firstly, adults: instead of 2 breaths 15 compressions, it should now be 30 compressions then 2 breaths. And secondly, children 2 breaths then 30 compressions. Please contact the first aid officer if you have any problems CHILDREN ON THE WEBSITE This email should help to clarify what you can and can't post to the site. Hello Alan, The key concerns are the use of images on the website, you must have permission of the child via a parent or carer to publish them. Ideally, this should be done at the beginning of the season. The identification of the child and personal information should not be printed with the image. Avoid using a photo if the child is named. Also, children should be clothed,( and be wearing shin pads if training or playing in a match) when using photos.
This is for the child's protection against the possibility
of grooming, and the use of inappropriate images for child
pornography. Best Wishes Jo Alan, following on from Joanne's mail the way the website is now functioning is contrary to a report I submitted to the FA regarding the makeup of the club. The FA do not acknowledge Under 7 competitive football and seek to encourage development over games at this age. Hence the reason we started the soccer development school for children between the ages of 5 and 8. Within that development school we do give children the opportunity to play in friendly games which are organised by the league but we do not have teams we have Development squads. The league insist on calling them Lions and Tigers but that is their decision not ours we should stick to our policy. Our manner of operation in this area is often quoted as best practice and was a cornerstone of obtaining development status There fore I would ask that the Under 7 team links be removed from the main team menu and be renamed development squad A and B and are only accessible from the Development school page. In addition, again in line with FA guidelines they should only contain a squad photo (No names) and fixtures. No match reports or scores must be published anywhere on the site including the instant message bar on the main page again because the FA want to encourage development rather than winning. The coaches linked to the two teams should have their details shown on the soccer school side bar together with their relevant qualification (i.e. Level 1,2) for info the assistant coaches will not hold an award. The mention could have (level 1,Development squad A) as their title but they should all be listed as coaches/assistant coaches only we do not have Managers at Under 7. This may should pedantic but as I have stated our methods of operation have to conform to Development club status and the FA will be checking on how we operate, the website being an easy option for so doing. AWARENESS Please see the email from Alan Savage regarding safety issues at our home pitches. We do have these pitches checked each Friday or Saturday but it reinforces the requirement to ensure that the whole of the playing area is checked prior to kick off. One of the mini soccer goals has not as yet had a retaining bolt fixed hence its removal. But be aware that even though the others are secured they may have had an attempt made to remove them which could in turn make them unsafe and they must always be checked. Please continue to report such issues. Another issue occurred this weekend where pitch bags were mixed up leaving a mini soccer game minus nets. Please remember that there are 4 bags which are all black and look identical.2 are mini soccer bags and contain nets and posts the other two are youth and only contain posts and linesman flags, the bigger youth nets are contained in separate holdalls. Despite reminders the bags are still being deposited by the van on a Saturday Morning which in this instance caused this situation and so you must again be reminded that it is a managers responsibility to ensure that the bags are handed PERSONALLY to the team who require them next not just dumped by the van. We do not carry extra nets on the van so unless you do not follow these guidelines you will get caught out and if you cancel will get a league fine. I would ask you to also remember that both Jan and I have nothing to do with this procedure, have commitments on a Sunday morning and cannot magic equipment up if you have not followed the guidelines.
